, a brand by Elad Cohen, based in Las Vegas, NV. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our platform at burden.run ("the App").
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect the following information when you create an account and use the App:
Account Information:
Your name, email address, display name, profile photo, location, and Instagram handle.
Strava Activity Data:
When you connect your Strava account, we access your running activity data including distance, pace, moving time, and activity dates. We only access data necessary to power the leaderboard and badge system.
Authentication Data:
We use Google OAuth and Strava OAuth for account authentication. We store access tokens securely to maintain your connection.
Usage Data:
We may collect information about how you interact with the App, including page views and feature usage.
3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
Display your name, profile, and running stats on the public leaderboard.
Calculate rankings, award badges, and track challenge progress.
Send you important updates about the competition, your badges, and rewards via email.
Improve and maintain the App's functionality and user experience.
Communicate with you about your account and participation.
4. THIRD-PARTY INTEGRATIONS
The App integrates with the following third-party services:
Strava:
We connect to Strava's API to sync your running activities. Strava's own privacy policy governs how they handle your data on their platform.
Google OAuth:
Used for secure account authentication. We receive your name and email from Google during sign-in.
Klaviyo:
We use Klaviyo to send email updates and notifications. Your email address and activity summary may be shared with Klaviyo for this purpose.
5. DATA STORAGE & SECURITY
Your data is stored securely on the Base44 platform with industry-standard encryption and access controls. Strava access tokens are stored securely and refreshed automatically. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. While we implement reasonable security measures, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. DATA RETENTION
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. If you delete your account through the App, your profile data, running statistics, and badge records will be permanently removed.
7. YOUR RIGHTS
You have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you.
Update or correct your profile information at any time through the App.
Disconnect your Strava account from the App.
Hide your profile from the public leaderboard.
Delete your account and all associated data.
Request a copy of your data by contacting us.
8. DATA DELETION REQUESTS
You can delete your account directly from the Profile page in the App. This will permanently remove your profile, running data, badges, and leaderboard entries. For additional data deletion requests or questions, contact us via Instagram at

9. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
The App is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we learn we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it promptly.
10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the App or via email. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
By accessing or using The Burden Run ("the App"), operated by The One Percent (a brand by Elad Cohen, based in Las Vegas, NV), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the App.
2. ELIGIBILITY
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and participate.
You must have a valid Strava account to sync running activities.
You must provide accurate and truthful information when creating your profile.
Participation is open worldwide, though rewards may be subject to shipping limitations.
3. ACCOUNT & STRAVA CONNECTION
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. By connecting your Strava account, you authorize us to access your running activity data as described in our
Privacy Policy
. You may disconnect your Strava account or delete your profile at any time through the App.
4. COMPETITION RULES
Rankings
are determined by total running mileage during the active challenge period.
Only runs recorded on Strava
and synced to the App count toward your leaderboard position.
You must manually sync your activities. Runs that are not synced will not appear on the leaderboard.
Challenge periods are set by the administrators and displayed in the App.
Only activities categorized as "Run" on Strava are eligible. Walks, rides, and other activity types do not count.
Administrators reserve the right to review and verify activity data for accuracy.
5. BADGES & REWARDS
Badges are awarded automatically based on specific milestones (e.g., total miles, streak days, pace achievements).
Some badges may be awarded manually by administrators for special achievements.
Each badge may unlock VOL 001 Credit, discount codes, or other rewards as described on the Badges page.
VOL 001 Credit
is redeemable toward The One Percent merchandise and has no cash value.
Discount codes are non-transferable and cannot be combined unless explicitly stated.
Leaderboard rewards (sponsorship, credit, discounts) are awarded at the end of each challenge period to eligible participants.
The One Percent reserves the right to modify reward values, types, or availability at any time.
Rewards are conditional on legitimate participation. Any manipulation of data may result in disqualification and forfeiture of rewards.
6. PROHIBITED BEHAVIOR
The following behaviors are strictly prohibited and may result in immediate disqualification, account suspension, or permanent ban:
Fabricating, manipulating, or artificially inflating Strava activity data (e.g., using GPS spoofing, e-bikes, or driving while recording).
Creating multiple accounts to gain an unfair advantage.
Harassing, threatening, or engaging in abusive behavior toward other participants.
Attempting to exploit, hack, or interfere with the App's functionality.
Impersonating another person or misrepresenting your identity.
Sharing or selling account access, discount codes, or rewards.
7. DISQUALIFICATION
The One Percent reserves the right to disqualify any participant, hide their profile from the leaderboard, or revoke badges and rewards at its sole discretion if any rule violation is suspected. Disqualified users will be notified through the App. Decisions regarding disqualification are final.
8. MODIFICATION & TERMINATION
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the competition or any part of the App at any time, with or without notice.
We may update these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
We may change challenge durations, reward structures, badge criteria, or leaderboard rules between challenge periods.
In the event of early termination, rewards will be distributed at the discretion of The One Percent based on standings at the time of termination.
9. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All content, branding, designs, and materials on the App are the property of The One Percent. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any content without written permission. User-submitted content (display names, bios, shoutouts) remains yours, but you grant us a license to display it within the App.
10. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. The One Percent is not liable for any damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to: data loss, service interruptions, inaccurate rankings, or inability to claim rewards. Participation in The Burden Run is voluntary and at your own risk. Running and physical activity carry inherent risks — consult a physician before beginning any exercise program.
11. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in the courts of Clark County, Nevada.
